About Us

History of the PBA

The aim of the PBA is to promote and develop Professional Bowls  worldwide and in doing so, foster, safeguard and encourage the game of  bowls at all levels.

The Professional Bowls Association (PBA)  was formed in 1997 by bowlers worldwide including Bowls USA Hall of Fame  member Frank Souza. The PBA has branches in US, Canada, Australia, New  Zealand, Hong Kong, Israel, South Africa and the UK.

The World  Bowls Tour runs a series of events including the Scottish International Open,  and the World Indoor Bowls Championships at Potters Resort, UK.

Bowlers in their home country compete to win and qualify for the honor of playing in the Tour events.  Members of the PBA in the US will play their qualifying events September 12-14, 2025 at Cambria Lawn Bowls Club in Cambria, California.

Membership in the PBA is open to anyone. Please join the PBA USA and enter the US Qualifiers to earn a spot in a WBT event.  We look forward to seeing you in southern California!

CURRENT PBA USA STRUCTURE

The current administrator of the US branch is Scottie Marzonie.  Each year we form a Tournament Committee and a Hospitality Committee to help organize, plan and run the US Qualifiers. The Administration and Committees are focused on increasing memberships, marketing the organization and providing professionally run qualifying events.  We also maintain communication with the World Bowls Tour to maintain our status as one of the participating international branches of the PBA.  We look forward to a bright future as we plan for this years' Qualifiers!
